Murrett writes: “The Chinese Foreign Ministry provided a statement in response to actions at the NATO Summit Meeting this week that probably overstated their concerns over resistance to Chinese support for Russia’s war in Ukraine.聽 At the same time, the reaction was likely spurred as much by the high-level participation of Japan, the R.O.K., Australia and New Zealand at the NATO meeting, cementing the Alliance’s role as a player in East Asia.聽 In any event, we can say with certainty that Beijing is paying close attention as the Alliance, as it marked it’s 75th聽year of impact across the globe.”
